Mystic Crystalized Teardrop Necklace
This necklace is made via a crystallized celluloid process, aka "French Ivory”. Wood fibers that are dried and kneaded react with free acids. A waxy Camphor compound found within Laurel Evergreen trees is mixed with alcohol and added under intense pressures to create an organic crystallized structure with various dyes and techniques applied for different patterns and effects.
Ten individual pieces that are 1/32nd of an inch come together with an expanding adhesive allowing a curved intact fiber infused lamination to occur with multiple species represented. Improvements over traditional wooden jewelry include enhanced durability, superior finish, dimensional stability, and exclusively features surface grain material.
