My Summer

Sue Pruss totally looses all sense of time when immersed in her glass studio. She’ll look at a beautiful new sheet of glass and begin to imagine. Sometimes the texture or pattern ‘tells’ her what to create. Other times, it’s the blending of colors. But the most rewarding aspect of all, is the organic approach she takes in her creations.

The tree is hand sculpted by the artist using powdered glass. The tree, once formed is cured and dried. Then the composition of the tree, flowers, and birds are incorporated into the final scene. The result: a snapshot of a beautiful sunset with birds enjoying their resting spot.
