Quote from Ledvina: "In this photo, I attempted to capture motion on two scales: the short-term motion of the waves and the slow motion of the stars with star trails. I think this photo is a great representation of how EVERYTHING around us is in motion and that life is always changing around us. It's not hard to notice motion on Lake Superior, with the gentle lapping of waves against the smoothed pebble beaches, but even the stars that seem stationary in the sky move throughout the night. This shot was created in October, 2020 and invovles combining a short blue-hour exposure fo the waves (3 seconds) and a long exposure of the sky (2 hours) to show the different timescales of motion on the North Shore.
