An almost perfect plant - - satisfyingly mathematic where everything is a set of three: petals, sepals, and leaves. And as a last act, right before dying they turn a lovely shade of purplish pink. The trillium has captivated humans for eons, and is a symbol of purity and rebirth. And apparently the roots are edible!
